Gun Lake is a sparkling body of water that rests at the base of Mount Penrose, a 2,627 m (8,618 ft) peak. The lake and its surrounding region create a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities. A series of trails begin at the scenic lake’s north end and continue across to the Plateau Ponds. Gun Lake is popular for boating and angling and can be enjoyed camping or staying at the Gun Lake Waterfront Inn. Winter visitors can join the fun of the annual Winterfest activities.
