The Bridge River Valley teems with life of all kinds. Grab your camera and go exploring. You are sure to see some amazing species.

Local wildlife includes: Mule Deer, Moose, Big Horn Mountain Sheep, Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Wolf, Coyote, Cougar, Bobcat, Lynx, Wolverine, Fisher, Marten, Snowshoe Hare and Otters.

Bird lovers can spot: Grouse: Dusky (Blue), Ruffed & Spruce; Ptarmigan, Chukar Partridge, Gray Partridge, Pheasant, Mourning Doves, Coots, Ducks, Geese, Falcons, Eagles, Hawks, Great Herons, Trumpeter Swans, Loons and Owls.

Trails

Winter

Winter is more than snowmobiling and back-country skiing in the Bridge River Valley. Some other fun activities to engage in:

Ice Skating on a frozen lake can’t be beat when conditions permit. Residents build and maintain rinks on most of the lakes.
Ice Fishing is a truely Canadian experience. Bridge River Valley’s lakes have great fishing winter and summer.
Cross Country Skiing on the frozen lakes is fun and relatively easy. Looking to toughen the task? There are plenty of trails that will test every level of experience.
Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to experience travel like the first explorers and a great way to see the gorgeous sights.
Winterfest is a fun event for the whole family on Little Gun Lake. Held over the BC Family Day long weekend in February and includes outdoor Hockey, Curling, Ice Fishing and kids activities!

Winterfest

Winterfest 2023 will be held on Family Day Weekend in BC, taking place on Saturday, February 18th from 10am-3pm at the Gold Bridge Community Club.

Winterfest is fun for the whole family to enjoy and there are activities for everyone. In 2023, we look forward to having Adult and Kids Games, a Kids Warm up Zone, Food and Hot Beverages for sale, Raffle prizes, an Artisan Market with many local vendors, Blackcomb Helicopter flights for raffle, and much more!
